The Hope & Ruin

The Hope & Ruin is a grassroots music venue and pub that strives to support the independent live music scene in Brighton. With a 150 capacity venue upstairs and frequent shows, DJs and more there is always something happening. Having hosted acts such as The Strokes, Adele, Dua Lipa and many more this venue is a longstanding staple in the Brighton music scene.

Cerebrating its 10 year anniversary in 2025 The Hope & Ruin has been a staple spot for national and international touring artists whilst remaining a key spot for local artists developing their live shows. Located on Queens Road between the train station and the seafront this venue is hard to miss on any trip to Brighton.

Green Door Store

Described as “1 of the UK’s top 10 grassroots music venues’’ by the likes of NME & Music Venues Trust. The Green Door Store is a staple in the grassroots music scene. Operating exclusively as an independent live music venue for over 13 yrs and boasting a 7 day itinerary of diverse events per week. The overall capacity is 300 with 170 capacity for live performance.

Located beneath the arches of Brightons Railway Station, Green Door really embodies the “underground” scene. With its eclectic decor and rustic look, this listed historical building is at the heart of Brighton’s booming music scene and has cemented itself amongst the community as a safe space for everyone and place where upcoming creatives and musicians can hone their craft.

The Prince Albert

The Prince Albert pub was originally a town house built in 1848 then converted into a pub in 1860. Today it stands as one of Brighton’s most cared for venues. Located right under Brighton station at the top of Trafalgar Street.

With a 110 capacity in the venue and a warm atmosphere downstairs, it’s known for its fiercely independent attitude and family run values. Never short of choice for craft beers & ales, or different genres of music. A continuous community spot for all.

Folklore Rooms

The Folklore Rooms is a place for music lovers and performers to unite in a space dedicated to their craft.

Located in Central Brighton above The Quadrant Pub, this beautiful venue is perfect for intimate folk shows as well as full band shows. The space is equipped with top of the line sound & lighting equipment, cared for by a dedicated team of in-house engineers.

At 60/70 capacity TFR is a beautifully intimate and unique performance space which is home to monthly showcase nights, as well as wide range of shows and events.

With an unbeatable atmosphere, great selection of craft beers on tap, and shows every night of the week, The Folklore Rooms is Brighton’s newest music venue that delivers much more than just the show.

The Pipeline

The Pipeline is a fully independent grassroots live music venue. With a capacity of 60 people and strong DIY ethics it’s become a hub for open minded, creative people in Brighton.

Hosting between 5 and 7 shows a week the DIY space has become a staple stage for artists starting their music careers. Thanks to grants from Arts Council England, they have all the equipment for bands to just plug and play. They do not accept any form of homophobia, racism or sexism.

Revenge

A legendary Brighton nightclub but a relative newcomer to live music, Revenge has quickly established itself as a quirky and fun venue for live music hosting some of the worlds hottest acts such as Slayyyter, Rebecca Black, Declan McKenna, Beth McCarthy, Adore Delano, You Me At Six and more.

Rossi Bar

Located at No 8, Queens Road, Brighton, The Rossi Bar is an independently run grassroots venue that has been operating for just over 6 years. Situated in the heart of Brighton it has the capacity to hold up to 60 patrons in its basement bar live room with an overall venue capacity of 100.

The Rossi Bar’s main ethos is to nurture some of the newer bands & artists that often get overlooked due to a lack of professional experience. In providing an intimate platform where they can foster their talents and (often) perform their first gig, helping them to build their local audience whilst gaining practical experience in the industry. At the heart The Rossi Bar programming is a space celebrating diverse talent with a variety of performances at a grassroots level.

Daltons

Daltons is a grassroots live entertainment venue right on Brightons iconic seafront. Hosting live events 7 nights a week this 170 capacity live space with a further chill out games room and a large covered terraced area with amazing views of the Palace Pier and beyond is one of the newest Brighton venues quickly growing into a staple amongst the community.
